[youtube=http://youtu.be/7pEVyagc4oc]London Fashion Week AW14 was a incredible. Not only we had so much fun discovering the new fashion trends, but we`ve met and filmed some of the biggest celebs in the industry, like John Rocha, Tom Ford, J.W. Anderson, Paul Smith, Viviene Westwood and Cara Delevingne. We`ve also seen the colorful Burberry Prorsum show (with Paloma Faith live). And because LFW SS15 is close, here`s a little reminder to keep you ready for what`s coming up this season. There`s more to come, so don`t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel or visit our website.

London Fashion Designers Videos - Why So Serious

Here are 2 facts:1. I`m a guy2. From my perspective, fashion is a 7 letter word and includes 7 designers, with Tom Ford and Paul Smith at the top of the list. So one thing for sure, when it comes to emerging London fashion designers, my knowledge isn`t that vast (although I have to admit, I've always had a keen eye for all the new designer makers selling in the London markets). Fortunately, I can always rely on Wears London to broaden my horizons when it comes to the up-and-coming London talents. This hip fashion marketplace brings together the best designer makers from the London area and helps fashion savy buyers to shop the coolest up and coming designs in and around London's fashion hubs.So we`ve teamed up and decided to create inspiring video profiles for emerging London fashion designers. The first on our list was Why So Serious , a luxury fashion label based on culture and politics from around the world, founded in February 2013 by Terri-Leigh Finnegan. We were more than privileged to be the first ones to have interviewed Terri in her work-space studio and take part in a stunning derelict warehouse fashion shoot showcasing her Haitian inspired collection.
There were many ingredients that made us think that this interview will be a hit and Terri's Why So Serious collections will simply take off.  And we're very happy to say that she's collaborated with the one and only Cadbury for London Fashion Week 2013 to create a stunning infusion of purple on a superb one-off dress celebrating Cadbury's 100 years anniversary! And because London Video Stories aims to inspire you through the stories about people who believe in their ideas and take that one step further to make them come true, we're thrilled to say that from any sales that she makes, Terri offers actual support to the cultures that provided an inspiration for her designs. Here`s our proud work, which has also been featured on Visit Britain's websitehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UBZY9aJXugMihai

DMC Magic, Andy Murray and the Prince

We all love magic, right? I think that at least once we've imagined ourselves performing a trick or two. But, when that doesn't work, the best next thing is to see magic at work. And that`s what I did while filming DMC (Drummond Money-Coutts), this intriguing character that tests the limits of his viewers' perception more often than the camera can record. No, he doesn`t have a hat and no rabbit there either. What he has is a talent for prestidigitation, a passion for dramatic acts and a personalised bag that hides…well, I guess something related to magic. While entering the classy George Club in sophisticated Mayfair, I just wished I could have set my camera to shoot 100 frames per second because I was sure my eyes won`t be able to see some of the quick tricks Drummond would perform. And so, using my unique floating camera technique, we shot 2 videos. The first one is a tribute to  2013  Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray and the other one is a  magical tribute to the new Prince of Cambridge. In the end, I would say to keep an eye on DMC in this videos but I`m afraid it won`t be enough, so watch them twice.Mihai[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqmyPqYZtew&w=560&h=315][youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCIIJkKQN3k&w=560&h=315]

Experimental Video London Tourneé Cadenza / DanceVideo

A few months ago I was invited by Carlos Dittborn, a talented Chilean director to get involved into an experimental video.  And so I did as a Director of Cinematography. Until now, I only worked on factual videography (more than I did on experimental videos), weather it was documentary or short corporate videos, and this project was for me a fun challenge especially because I`m planning my first short fiction film. I had to think out of the box, more visually than before and to adapt to the new DSLR I`ve worked with. What we had to do may seem simple: to capture the essence of a one minute dance and then to slow-motion it to almost 5 minutes. So, we used many camera angles and a frame rate of 60fps. The result was stunning because it seamed like the dancer was stopped somewhere between movement and stillness. Not only was this a positive experience because of working with a talented  dancer, director and choreographer, but also, it made me think about the power that video has today: to slow down reality and offer us a moment of peace. The video is in the festival circuit and will soon be available in UK.Meanwhile, you can enjoy the trailer below:[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG9uNegsoGY]

Barbican Cinema

Last December, I was invited by Phillip Bergson, the renowned British film critic, to attend the opening event of 2 new Barbican Cinemas. They are the first addition to the venue since the Barbican opened in 1982 and are equipped with digital projection plus 35mm and 16mm. Film screening this month include Cloud Atlas, To the Wonder or Stoker.Enjoy a few photos I took and please visit Barbican`s website: http://www.barbican.org.uk/film/new-cinemas

Beara Beara and street-style photography

London can be an incredible place for all the opportunities it brings to meet people. I`m talking about people with passion because that`s what I`m trying to do with my work - tell stories about passionate people.I’ve recently met Jake, travel writer, designer and founder of Beara Beara Company. He needed a photographer that could present his uniquely crafted leather bags, designed in UK and handmade by family businesses he supports in Bolivia. Great, right?I thought that`s pretty catchy so I got involved and played a while with my lenses and the bags. I even went to Brick Lane to see some of the street styles that might work with the colourful bags. And man, that worked just fine. In a way, those bags are what each photographer would want when thinking about product shoots: colourful, incredibly well-made, trendy and stylish. I even thought about wearing one of the Beara Beara bag instead of my camera backpack. The Beara Beara campaign is a work in progress and while you`re reading, we`re preparing a series of new shoots so keep an eye on the bags. I have the feeling that they will be the next bubble in London when it comes to stylish, accessible handmade bags. Even Taylor Swift is wearing one on her tour!If you want you can check out the Beara Beara website http://www.bearabeara.co.uk/ or Facebook page www.facebook.com/bearabeara , or pay them a visit as they sell on high-street in Topshop Oxford Street and Brick Lane Market. No wonder people call them “the Cambridge Satchel Company of backpacks”.Hope you'll like the street style photo-shoot I took around Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market.
